We, like so many Canadians, are again reminded of our country’s systemic racism towards Indigenous People. It is sickening to know 215 children were killed and buried in a mass grave after being forced into Residential Schools by our government and churches. This isn’t history or in the past. The impact of these actions are being felt now by their loved ones and the Indigenous community.
We need to do something. We recognize that we’re not experts on the needs of Indigenous people in our community, but we do want to offer our support.
This Saturday we’re selling our 6-pack of donuts and donating $5 to Indian Residential School Survivors Society from each box sold. We trust and want to empower the Indian Residential School Survivors Society to strengthen their voice in demanding for change.
